Multi Agent Systems

A multi-agent system is a computerized system consisting of multiple dependent intelligent agents. They are allowing technology for  numerous  advanced applications relying on distributed and parallel processing of data, information, and knowledge relevant in domains ranging from industrial manufacturing to e-commerce to health care. Agent environments can also be organized according to properties such as accessibility, determinism,  dynamics, discreteness, episodicity, and dimensionality. Agent actions are typically mediated via an appropriate middleware. This middleware offers a first-class design abstraction for multi-agent systems, providing means to govern resource access and agent coordination.
