Dr. Abdelkefi is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering at New Mexico State University. He has advised three PhD students and four Master students. He is currently advising seven PhD students and six Master students. His research interests are in the fields of nonlinear dynamics, energy harvesting, vibration & control, smart materials, aeroelasticity, fluid-structure interactions, MEMS & NEMS, and flight dynamics. Dr. Abdelkefi has one book, one patent, more than 100 published archival journal articles, and more than 80 conference presentations at national and international conferences. He has also served as a reviewer in more than 50 journals. Before joining New Mexico State University, he was a Postdoctoral Research Fellow at Virginia Tech between July 2012 and July 2014. He earned his Ph.D. in Engineering Mechanics from Virginia Tech in 2012 and a Master of Science in Computational Mechanics from Tunisia Polytechnic School in collaboration with Virginia Tech in 2009.
